Description
Welcome! to the 7th Glasgow City Cup International Youth Football Tournament to be held at the Glasgow Green Football Complex in Glasgow from Thursday 7th Aug - Sunday 10th Aug 2008, with an additional new customised facility of Greenfield Football Complex in the East End of Glasgow being added for the increase in categories in 2008. It is possible that the previous Thursday evening may be added to accommodate additional categories.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are invited from all Teams who receive permission from their National Governing Body. For SYFA Teams this is achieved through affilliating again for season 2008/09 and submitting a Tournament Permit Application. Entries are also sought from Girls teams as described due to the interest we have received from home and abroad from girls teams.
Boys aged - 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19 & 21
Girls aged - 15 & 17
A new Elite/Profession section will be created where applications are invited from Professional Clubs - Regional Squads and County Squads
Boys aged - 13, 15 & 17
Format Each age group will be divided into sections of 4 teams and there will be a main competition and a consolation competition. Each team will be scheduled at least 5 matches over the three days.
Entry Fees
The entry fee for SFA, SWF and SYFA Affiliated Teams will be £150 (excluding Tournament Permit Fee). For all non Scottish Teams the entry fee will be £300.
Age Groups (Season 2008/09 Age Groups Apply - check you enter the correct age group) Enter the age level which reflects the year your players are born in.
Substitutes The rolling substitute system will operate at all age levels. Each Age Group can register a Squad of 18 players. Once the Squad is registered prior to the first match in your section there can be no further additions
Professional Games and Stadium Visits It may be possible to take in a game at Ibrox (Rangers FC), Celtic Park (Celtic FC) or at Hampden Park (Queens Park FC) subject to availability. It may also be possible to arrange a Stadium Tour or visit the Scottish Football Museum, subject to availability.

Please make cheques payable to ’Glasgow City Cup’. Please refer to the Tournament Application section for instructions on payment of entry fees. Instructions for making payments for accommodation and transport can be obtained by contacting the Tournament.
